Overview

Padres Promotores de Campaña Quetzal is a program to help Latino families create a pipeline to higher education for their children. Delivered in Spanish, the program is based on a curriculum that helps families understand the education system. It enables parents to support their child’s education at any age, from birth to 21, in the home.

The Padres Promotores work as a team to learn how to help other parents. The curriculum includes: how to prepare preschool children for school, grade transitions, graduation requirements, how to calculate a GPA, the WASL, college costs, financial aid and scholarships, HB 1079 students (for undocumented students), to name a few.

The Padres Promotores will receive intensive training and through monthly talks will deepen their knowledge on curriculum topics. Then, they will share what they’ve learned with other parents by making presentations at churches, community centers, schools, libraries and homes.

Student success in school also depends on parent and community involvement. This program has made substantial gains in student achievement in Santa Ana, California, and our program has more than 30 partners and providers ready to connect the needs of families with available resources. You can help your child be successful in school and help others do the same.

You are invited to attend our next and learn about how you can help your children succeed in school. We hope you will join us!.
